Transition’s 2013 Carbon Covert
July 16, 2012

It’s no surprise that we have a mild addiction to biking, so when the boys at Transition approached us about teaming up with them to design their first carbon bike, we jumped right in. After meeting with them to hammer out the details of the project, i.e. riding the actual bike slated for carbon, we immediately put pencils to paper. The goal was to develop a carbon version of the Covert that captured the essence of the previous aluminum models but took advantage of the design flexibility that carbon offers. Working with carbon really allowed us to push what could be done with the lines and surfaces of the bike so we looked outside of the bike industry for inspiration. Transition’s “no compromise” design approach preserved the integrity of our original concept which is reflected in the final frame design. We can’t wait to ride it!
